Dave Price
Dave Price first studied violin and piano, before discovering the endless sound world of percussion. After a music degree at Durham University he received a three-year scholarship to study contemporary classical percussion with Stanislaw Skoczynski at the Chopin Academy in Warsaw. In 1999 he was invited to take part in the European Percussion Academy at the Aix-en-Provence festival, working closely with the leading exponents of French contemporary percussion music - Trio le Cercle, Percussions du Strasbourg and Ensemble Intercontemporain. Since returning to London in 2000, he has developed a career as a musician and composer, exploring a broad creative outlook.
Dave is an Associate of the award-winning physical theatre company Gecko, who regularly tour shows to the world's leading theatre festivals. Credits include Missing (Original Score & Sound), Taylors Dummies and The Overcoat (Original Score and Performer).
Other recent theatre work includes: Measure for Measure (Royal Shakespeare Company), A Soldier in Every Son: An Aztec Trilogy (RSC and Compañía Nacional de Teatro de México), Troilus and Cressida (RSC and The Wooster Group), Beasts and Beauties (Hampstead Theatre) and a project working with a group of autistic children at Lyric Hammersmith which was also filmed for a Channel 4 documentary called Young, Autistic and Stagestruck.
Dave recorded several albums and toured extensively with the pop group Aqualung, and regularly works with singer songwriter Gwyneth Herbert as multi-instrumentalist and co-producer.
Other recent highlights include recording with Regina Spektor and gigs with Max de Wardener, Eska and English folk band Bellowhead.
