Peter Copley
Peter Copley studied at the Royal Academy of Music, the Akademia Muzyczna in Krakow and privately with Hans Keller. His orchestral works include: Concerto for Guitar and String Orchestra (1993); Purgations (1998), a multi-media project written in collaboration with Mark C. Hewitt (text) and Tom Walker (images); Unfrozen Architecture, for Southern Winds; Concerto for Trumpet, Strings and Percussion, first performed by John Wallace and the Brighton Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Barry Wordsworth at Brighton Festival 2000 to critical acclaim; and A City Awakes, commissioned by the Brighton Philharmonic Orchestra and first performed by them in October 2002.
In 1994, Peter Copley co- founded composers' collective New Music Brighton.
