Quinta
Quinta is an experimental music-maker and multi-instrumentalist, with particular interests in improvisation, non-conventional scoring, electronic interfacing and new instruments. She explores extended techniques (mainly for strings) and graphic notation, and she mainly plays keyboards, violin, viola, and musical saw, but dips into a bigger box of tricks including lever harp, ukelele, clarinet, recorder, melodica, and glockenspiel when adventures call.
She was Music Fellow at Rambert 2015/16, British Council Musician-in-Residence China 2016/7 and PRS Composer Fund awardee 2019. She is co-founder of Music in Detention and a long-time collaborator with Music in Prisons. She also writes for dance, circus, theatre, TV and film.
