Roger Redgate
Roger Redgate was born in Bolton in 1958 and studied at the Royal College of Music, winning prizes for composition, violin, harmony and counterpoint. A DAAD scholarship enabled him to study further in Germany, with Brian Ferneyhough and Klaus Huber.
He is conductor and artistic director of Ensemble Exposé, who perform regularly at European festivals and on BBC Radio 3. He has worked in the fields of jazz, improvised music, film and television, including programmes for the BBC and Channel 4. Recordings of his music appear on Spectrum (NMC D057) and A Roaring Flame (NMC D079).
