Sarah Collins
Sarah Collins was born in London, studied composition (and piano) at City University and then at Sussex University with Jonathan Harvey. She left London in 2001, and is now based in Wiltshire.
She began a PhD in composition with Professor Rhian Samuel in October 2005. She has written for a wide range of instruments and ensembles, from Salisbury Cathedral Choir and harp; a 7-piece brass ensemble with Nigerian drummers; The European Union Baroque Orchestra, to soloists from E.N.O. with electric guitars.
She is currently beginning work on a percussion concerto for Olu Taiwo and The Sarum Orchestra. She plays when ever the opportunity arises, and teaches piano at a variety of schools, as well as running a community choir.
