Amoret Abis
Amoret Abis studied music at the University of Oxford and postgraduate composition at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. Her teachers have included Robert Saxton, Joe Cutler and Andrew Toovey. Amoret's compositions include a number of works for string orchestra, a small-scale concerto for vibraphone, pieces for piano as well as music for CoMA Open Score. Amoret has been involved in arts education for many years and she teaches music and art in secondary school. She has written about the teaching of composition and contributed to ‘Beyond Britten: The Composer and the Community’ edited by Peter Wiegold and Ghislaine Kenyon (Boydell and Brewer, 2015).
