Samuel Bordoli
Samuel became the first composer to create a work for significant vertical and horizontal spaces when in 2012 his live music sculptures for the Monument and Tower Bridge were featured in the City of London Festival. Described by the Observer as 'beautiful and ethereal', these works have set a fascinating precedent for exploring unusual architecture and music. He recently completed the music and libretto for the chamber opera Amerika, based on the novel by Kafka, which was commissioned by Tête à Tête.
He has received many awards for his work including the Mendelssohn Scholarship. Summer 2013 saw the performance of his new and unprecedented live music sculpture specifically designed to explore the unique acoustics of St Paul's Cathedral. The work featured 27 musicians arranged throughout the space, including a number of multi-level triforium galleries and the famous whispering gallery.
