Luke Styles
Born in Australia in 1982, Luke moved to the United Kingdom in 2001 to study at the Royal Academy of Music. A postgraduate degree followed in Vienna, with a second post graduate course in Germany and in 2009 he went on to study with George Benjamin at Kings College, London.
Luke is the recipient of several awards and commissions including the Wolfgang-Rihm scholarship, DAAD scholarship, PRSF New Works commission, RVW Trust commission and Britten-Pears Foundation funding. He is currently Glyndebourne’s Young Composer in Residence, and is also a freelance lecturer, director of Ensemble Amorpha and teaches composition at the Junior Trinity College of Music.
