Ben Nobuto: 'Sol'
BEST CHORAL COMPOSITION WINNER
Ben composed his work Sol as part of our annual partnership with the National Youth Choir.
The work is inspired by ancient sun gods, musing on the choir as an ecology, where multiple things happen simultaneously that are at once distinct, yet symbiotic.
• Emily Howard (Best Orchestral Composition) – Emily’s debut album Magnetite was released by NMC in 2016, this year we released her latest album Torus to critical acclaim
• Angela Slater (Best Large Ensemble Composition) – Angela was one of 20 brilliant composers to feature on the recent Sounds New release celebrating 100 years of the CBSO
